Copper-Fruit Tree

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, wonky trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, brown-green bark, and inside, the hard wood is copper-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are very long and thick and are covered with small bunches of giant, 7 pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either lilac, or yellow with dark orange streaks.

In early spring, it produces several giant, black blossoms with circular petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like burning wood.

In mid-summer it produces tiny, circular fruit. The sticky cyan skin is tough and sweet and salty, and the soft yellow flesh is sweet and powdery. The vibrant red seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
