Blueleaf Mossrose

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 27 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of knobbly, crooked stems covered in silky, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches are very short and slender that and are covered with copious amounts of large, perforated, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue at the bottom and copper with pastel green dots at the top, rigid and smooth.

It produces lots of large, caramel flowers with long, tapering petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like candle wax. In late summer it forms largedark grey, shelled seeds.

All parts of the moss are edible.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
