Silverberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 38 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown-grey.

The excessive amount of branches are short stubs and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, asymmetrical leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid silver or white, with brown patches.

In early spring, it produces several tiny, azure blossoms with 2 pointed petals. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like sweat.

In late autumn it produces tiny, long, straight fruit. The fuzzy red skin is thick and inedible, and the soft black flesh is sour and syrupy. The muted orange seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
