Silvervine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This huge bine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 3,439 feet (1,048.2 meters) and growing as high as 287 feet (87.5 meters).

It takes 35 years for the gray or gold stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 3.0 feet (91 cm) and are smooth and rubbery.

The very thin, leathery leaves reach up to 10 inches (25 cm) in length. They are olive at the bottom and pale yellow with silver edges at the top, and have tattered edges.

During late spring, the bine produces a handful of tiny indigo flowers, and during the late autumn, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of small seed pods.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
