Bronzeberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, slanted trunk covered in hard, ridged, dark brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with small bunches of giant, very narrow and elongated leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either orange or azure, with pink streaks.

In early spring, it produces bunches of tiny, pink blossoms with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like mango.

In late summer it produces tiny, circular fruit. The hairy white skin is tough and inedible, and the soft bronze flesh is savoury and oily. The orange seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It can survive a long time without water.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
