Green Spine Succulent

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 48 feet (14.6 meters) tall. The perforated stem is moss green and yellow-green, and is covered in thick bunches of flexible vibrant green spines. The stocky, white trunk can grow to as much as 48 feet (14.6 meters) in diameter. Its silver branches are short, rigid and upright.

The rounded-edged, thin leaves are amber on the sides and light grey at the center. They are durable, and do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are either dark orange or hazel, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of dozens of tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like sugar.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the blue flesh is sticky, and the lilac sap is thin.
