Black Bog Moss

This grey or black moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In bogs.
It is large, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is overwhelmingly sturdy.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
