Amber Succulent

This small leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The thick stem is brown, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid amber spines. The stumpy leaves are dark yellow at the bottom and purple with drab red edges at the top. Thick bunches of them grow on wide, copper branches that are very short and thick. The leaves are flexible, but take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with drab red petals and a lilac central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 5 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 57 curved petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like fresh linen.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the violet flesh is rubbery, and the amber sap is thin.
