Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In marshes.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly light.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
