Indigo Tree

This colossal tree grows up to 136 meters (446.2 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 66 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in thick, waxy, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is brown.

The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of sticky, huge, slender, pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are indigo on the sides and turquoise at the center.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, yellow, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
