Crimson Tail Grass

This short, gray-green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The fan-like stalks grow in small clumps that are rigid.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, crimson tail.

During the early summer, it produces very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of tiny grains.
