Yellowcrack Willow

This modest-sized tree grows up to 49 meters (160.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 107 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in very thick, cracked, yellow bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale yellow.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of rough, large, long, narrow leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of moss green that gradient shifts to slate at the top.

In late summer it forms tiny, aquamarine berries.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
