Emerald Flame Moss

This moss green moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On rotten logs, and In bogs.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is extremely frail; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores.
