Magenta

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 275 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, dark brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is pale brown.

The numerous branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with thick bunches of smooth, huge, thick leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either cream, or magenta with caramel dots.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, light grey blossoms with many layers of petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like pot-purri.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, dark grey, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
