Indigo
Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its light brown stem is thick and splits into several branching stems at the top, and the large, green leaves are thick with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
Dozens of giant flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with alternating petals of pastel purple and indigo, with a gentle green central disk. The flower head is made up of 16 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. They fall easily.
It has an intensely strong scent that smells like pepper, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
