Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 46 feet (14.0 meters) and growing as high as 582 feet (177.4 meters).

It takes 16 months for the olive and dark brown stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and gnarled.

The long, tapering, fuzzy leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are lime and orange, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the bine produces large amounts of small brown flowers.


It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
