Aquamarine

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 39 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, angular trunk covered in paper-thin, knobbly, silver bark, and inside, the very dense wood is white.

The small handful of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of large, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine and lime.

In early spring, it produces clusters of tiny, cyan blossoms with triangular shaped petals. They are hardy and have a powerful scent that smells like mint.

In mid-summer it produces small, 2 pointed fruit. The leathery lime skin is peel-able and sweet, and the very soft green flesh is sour and dry. The crimson seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
