Copper

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 70 feet (21.3 meters) tall. The very thick stem is red, and is covered in thick sheets of fine, cream, hair-like spines. It has a curved, thick, orange trunk atop a very thick web of silky, exposed roots. The branches are slender and orange-yellow and are long and slender.

The toothed-edged, broad, flat leaves are either drab green or slate, with orange streaks. They are strong, but do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are turquoise at the sides and orange at the center grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 17 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like fresh linen.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the olive flesh is rubbery, and the copper sap is thin.
