Crimson Spire

This small caudiciform grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is silver, and is covered in brittle washed-out yellow spines. It has a wonky, bulbous, crimson trunk atop a stocky tripod of smooth, exposed roots. The branches are wide and indigo and are tall, rigid and upright.

The toothed-edged, spear shaped leaves are solid blue or washed-out green, with azure splotches. They are frail, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is very slow growing, taking 37 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid beige petals decorated with brown lines and a hazel central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 petals. It has a strong scent that smells like sugar.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the purple flesh is smooth, and the blood red sap is thin.
