Caramel Heartflower

This giant flower grows up to 9.3 feet (2.8 meters) tall. Its burgundy stem is thin and straight, and the miniature, vibrant red leaves are wide with tattered edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

5 to 10 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 51 cm (20.1 inches) wide, with purple petals that gradient shift to caramel on the outer edge. The central disk is deep yellow. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 26 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has an intense scent that smells like an ocean breeze, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird and is ignored by most insect species.
