Twining Vineberry

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small bine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 12 feet (3.7 meters) and growing as high as 71 feet (21.6 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 10 months for the brown or indigo stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are hard and brittle.

The perforated, smooth leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are solid light brown with dull blue lines, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the bine produces dozens of tiny black flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces lots of small berries.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
