Bluebell

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This big flower grows up to 5.8 feet (1.8 meters) tall. Its gray-green stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thin with a curved tip, and the huge, yellow leaves are stiff, pointed with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two small flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 27 cm (10.6 inches) wide, with solid blue petals decorated with peach lines and a silver central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 27 raised, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like cheese, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
