Caramel

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short caudiciform grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The tapering stem is pink-red, and is covered in brittle caramel spines. The very thick, black trunk can grow to as much as 8 feet (2.4 meters) in diameter. Its lime green branches are short, rigid and upright.

The toothed-edged, wispy leaves are sky blue and blood red. They are strong, but detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with red petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of 12 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like a woman.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the beige flesh is leathery, and the lime sap is thin.

It is frequently struck by lightning.
