Indigo Vine

This modest-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 45 feet (13.7 meters) and growing as high as 81 feet (24.7 meters).

It takes 2 years for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and prickly.

The very thin, leathery leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are a shade of gray-green that gradient shifts to indigo at the top, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the vine produces many small azure flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces excessive amounts of very large seed pods.
