Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On trees, In rainy mountain ranges, and In damp forests.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is extremely light; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
