Bloodvine

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 43 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several flexible, crooked stems covered in fine, cracked, light gray bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are short and thin that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, asymmetrical, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are orange-yellow with amber tips, strong and smooth.

In late summer it produces handfuls of giant, deep purple blossoms with 7 cylindrical shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like blood.

In mid-autumn very large slender, 8 pointed fruits ripen. The leathery washed-out red skin is thin and inedible, and the crunchy slate flesh is salty and sticky. The lime seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.
