Copperbell

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 168 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has numerous wide, straight stems covered in waxy, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of miniature, needle-like, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in magenta, white and intense blue varieties, resistant and soft.

In mid-summer it produces lots of large, copper flowers with slender, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like new books.
