This emerald moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In moorlands, In marshes, and On trees.
It is massive, growing up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is extremely resistant.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It is suitable for making paper
