It takes 5 months for the moss green stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are smooth and waxy.
The spear shaped, soft leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are solid cream or subtle purple, with blue lines, and have ripped edges.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
