Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On rotten logs.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is very robust; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores.

It is excellent at collecting and storing carbon dioxide
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
