Magenta

This small caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The pleated stem is magenta or gold, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid orange spines. The straight, grey trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its gray branches are very short and thin and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.

The copious amounts of rounded-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are solid white or crimson, with pale blue edges. They are frail, but take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 6 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with blue petals and a gold central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 curved petals. It has an intense scent that smells like rainy days.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the silver flesh is slimy, and the cyan sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
