Copperleaf Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The perforated stem is pink-red, and is covered in sharp spines. The pointed leaves are either copper, or dark brown with aquamarine streaks. Sparse amounts of them grow on stumpy, red branches that trail down to the ground. The leaves are robust, and take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid magenta petals and an amber central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 4 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. It has a delicate scent that smells like baby powder.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the caramel flesh is leathery, and the red sap is thin.
