Orangeleaf Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The sickle shaped stem is gray-green, and is dotted with small bright orange spines. The slender leaves are ashy orange on the edges and orange at the center. Very large amounts of them grow on stumpy, gray-green branches that are long and thick. The leaves are strong, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is slow growing, taking 14 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid caramel petals decorated with pink dots and a black central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 4 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. It has a delicate scent that smells like baby powder.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the lime flesh is waxy, and the black sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
