Caramel Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized, gray-green grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The wide stalks grow in large clumps that are rigid and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, caramel puff.

During the late summer, it produces lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with excessive amounts of giant grains.

The grains are bitter, but very healthy and can be used to make numerous baked goods.
It is suitable for making paper
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
