Bluebrush

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 38 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many branched, crooked stems covered in waxy, silver bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, very narrow and elongated, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid aquamarine or blue, with magenta streaks, light and fuzzy.

In late spring it produces many giant, dark brown flowers with needle-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like paint.
