Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly flexible.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
