Copperbell
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This massive flower grows up to 8.0 feet (2.4 meters) tall. Its copper stem is wispy, and the tiny, gray-green and moss green leaves are perforated with irregular edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 72 cm (28.3 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of faded blue. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 22 widely spaced, narrow petals. They detach easily.
It has a soft scent that smells like garlic, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a variety of insects.
It commonly grows in large patches.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is suitable for making strong rope
The seeds are toxic to people but not to certain animals.
