Copperbark

This big shrub grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for around 99 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, slanted stems covered in thin, ridged, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are long and thick that and are covered with sparse amounts of large, thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid brown or orange, with washed-out red dots, hardy and fuzzy.

In early spring it produces dozens of small, bronze blossoms with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like paint.

In mid-autumn finger-like fruits ripen. The smooth beige skin is thin and bitter, and the soft violet flesh is spicy and juicy. The black seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.
