Brown Moss

This dark brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs, In heathlands, and In damp forests.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is overwhelmingly flexible; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
