This gray-green moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On trees.
It is large, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is very delicate.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It can survive a very long time without water.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
