Bronze

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 30 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is dark brown.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of large, very thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are bronze and white.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of tiny, silver blossoms with spiral shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like fresh linen.

In mid-summer it produces small, long, tapering fruit. The crispy subtle orange skin is delicate and sour, and the crunchy beige flesh is very savoury and dry. The dark brown seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
