Bluebell Fruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 32 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, curved trunk covered in thick, smooth, gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The small handful of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small amounts of small, long, tapering leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are bronze and white.

In early spring, it produces many large, brilliant blue blossoms with pleated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like glue.

In late autumn it produces , pleated fruit. The hairy brilliant blue skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy beige flesh is sweet and juicy. The green seeds are small and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
