Bronze

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 67 feet (20.4 meters) tall. The tapering stem is gray, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid bronze spines. The pointed leaves are generally orange. Small amounts of them grow on very thick, gray-green branches that are long and slender. The leaves are delicate, but take some effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 40 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are peach in the center, azure in the middle and light blue at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 13 raised, narrow petals. It has a faint scent that smells like freshly baked bread.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the yellow flesh is rough, and the pale purple sap is thin.
