Turquoise Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This large fruit tree grows up to 32 feet (9.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 17 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, slanted trunk covered in thin, knobbly, brown and grey bark, and inside, the light wood is white.

The small handful of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of large, broad, flat leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally turquoise.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of tiny, aquamarine blossoms with wide petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like warm cookies.

In mid-autumn it produces small, long, curved fruit. The soft orange skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft peach flesh is spicy and savoury and sticky. The muted yellow seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
