Crimson Shrub

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 174 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of thick, wavy stems covered in wrinkled, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, very thick, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are slate and hazel, tough and smooth.

In early summer it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, red flowers with pleated petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like petrol.
