Copperleaf

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 15 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of very thick, slanted stems covered in hard, smooth, silver bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy that and are covered with large amounts of large, broad, flat, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are bright yellow at the bottom and hazel with azure zig-zags at the top, flexible and smooth.

It produces balls of medium-sized, crimson flowers with cylindrical shaped petals. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like chocolate. In late winter it forms medium-sizeddark grey, shelled seeds.
