Caramel

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The perforated stem is gray and caramel, and is covered in many flexible pink spines. The serrated-edged, teardrop-shaped leaves are dark brown with red tips. Small bunches of them grow from the base in alternating pairs. The leaves are strong, and do not detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are azure at the sides and white at the center grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 12 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like new carpet.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the blood red flesh is smooth, and the sky blue sap is thin.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.

It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
