Crimson Wavewillow

This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 168 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many branched, straight stems covered in thin, rough, black bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches trail down across the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of small, thin, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are purple and crimson, robust and waxy.

It produces large amounts of small, red flowers with fan-like petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like perfume. In late winter it forms smallcrimson, tough-shelled seeds.
