Bronze

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 44 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in silky, dark gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is brown.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, circular leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either azure, or vivid green with olive edges.

In early spring, it produces many giant, caramel blossoms with broad, flat petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like vomit.

In early autumn it produces small, circular fruit. The fuzzy bronze skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is sweet and sour, and the very soft vivid green flesh is bitter and sour and powdery. The brown seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
