Silverfern

This silver moss is commonly found growing in large clumps On trees, and In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly tough; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
